We are currently working on a critical goal to rescue girls living on the streets of Addis Ababa, Ethiopia. It is known that 42% of the homeless population in Addis is under the age of 18. We think this is a staggering statistic. Homeless children are often exploited by human trafficking networks, which have a large presence in Ethiopia’s crime rings. Unfortunately, many of the young girls experiencing homelessness in Ethiopia fall victim to these evil and destructive networks. If they do not fall prey to traffickers, it is common for girls to otherwise be victims of rape and physical abuse. Sniffing glue is a common addiction as it helps to combat the effects of hunger and cold.

Please consider supporting our BeMore Girls home by making a one-time or monthly recurring donation.  These funds are used to pay for rent, utilities, and the basic needs of the girls.  Our hope is to be able to house up to ten girls.

The home provides a loving mother and father figure to care for their physical and emotional needs.  Tekabe and Meti, along with the assistance of social workers, and other care providers work tirelessly to see that their needs are being met.  We are so thankful to them and their sincere efforts at providing a safe and loving home for these girls.

Lia - Girls Home

Lia is an energetic and loving 13-year-old girl who has already endured more than most children her age. She was born in the Ethiopian countryside to a young mother and father who separated when she was just a toddler. Unable to provide the care Lia needed on her own, Lia’s mother sent her to live with her grandmother when she was 5 years old. Tragically, just a year later, her grandmother passed away.

Lia was then sent to live with her father and stepmother, but it was a deeply unsafe environment where she faced rejection and severe abuse. After two painful years, Lia ran away and began surviving on her own in the streets. Eventually, she was found by local police and taken to a government-run orphanage, where she remained until being welcomed into our BeMore Girls Home.

Despite everything she has been through, Lia is incredibly bright, warm-hearted, and full of potential. She is now in a safe and nurturing space where she can rest, learn, and begin to thrive. Please consider sponsoring Lia, allowing her to receive the consistent care, education, and love she deserves as she builds a brighter future.

Ruhama - Girls Home

Ruhama is one of three biological sisters living at the BeMore Girls Home. She came to us from a rural part of Ethiopia after experiencing unimaginable loss and hardship at a young age, witnessing things no child should ever have to witness. Ruhama can be quiet but her warmth is unmistakable. She’s bright, kind, and always eager to lend a hand or join in on something fun.

Ruhama loves going to school and learning. She finds a lot of joy in learning and being with others and does everything with a gentle heart and sweet spirit. She is deeply grateful for every bit of kindness shown to her — always quick to smile, say thank you, and express genuine appreciation.

Ruhama is such a special part of our BeMore Girls Home. By sponsoring her, you help cover her basic needs, such as food, shelter, education, emotional support, and more! Join her on her new journey in our girls home!

Bemnet - Girls Home

Bemnet is a bright and resilient 12-year-old girl who recently joined our BeMore Girls Home. She was born to a teenage mother who gave Bemnet to her own mother in hopes of giving her daughter a better life. Bemnet spent her early childhood in the Ethiopian countryside with her grandmother, who loved her dearly but struggled to provide for their basic needs. They rarely had enough food and Bemnet was unable to attend school.

About a year ago, Bemnet’s grandmother made the difficult decision to bring her back to her mother in Addis Ababa, believing the city might offer more opportunities. Unfortunately, Bemnet faced months of hardship and abuse before being helped by a local organization that provided temporary shelter and care. She was later referred to a government-run orphanage, where she spent the next nine months before finally being welcomed into our Girls Home.

Now, with the safety and stability of the BeMore Girls Home, Bemnet is beginning to heal and dream again. She has immediately fit in with the other girls and is always first to help and play with others. With the support of a sponsor, Bemnet will have everything she needs to grow in a safe, nurturing environment. Please consider joining Bemnet on her new journey toward a bright future!
